I was very lucky to be sent this figure which is a pre production master from the Frothers Sculpting Competition. The theme for the competition was female miniatures that women would like.
This was the winning sculpt for the fantasy catagory and was sculpted by Kev White of Hasslefree. Kev took inspiration for the sculpt from a painting by Waterhouse called Miranda and the Tempest. Only after I painted the figure and did the base did I look up the painting and saw that the figure in it was standing at a shoreline looking out to see. Wierd huh.
This is a fantastic figure. OK its no big demon waving a massive sword around but the amount of emotion conveyed in the sculpt is astounding and it was great to paint it.
The figure will be available in due time from the Frothers site.

Comments appreciated as ever.
Mark.

I have seen some of your works, and I must say to you that this one is definitly my favorite one. This kevin White's sculpt is fabulous, and I'm jealous because you paint it the PERFECT way. Klute, I think you are becoming one of my favorite painters.

Great looking mini. Its simple but I agree with your explanation of the sculpt. I love the base. Did you make it yourself. If so I would love to hear about it.

Excellent job Mark - really evocative. Kev's given the model loads of movement for such a static piece too. Damn fine
