Ogre Bounty Hunter (UK GD '05)

This was my biggest entry for the UK Golden Demon Awards 2005. It took me one week to do the conversion/sculpt and another week to paint him. I thoroughly believe this is my best work yet.

At the end of the day he won Gold in fantasy monster which I am very pleased with.

Skintone: Yeah, I know that new Ogres are grey skinned but I hate that look and wanted a warmer skintone. I reckon this guy's been on a different diet to the Ogres at home in their Kingdoms. And it's had an effect on him

Let alone one of your best pieces of work, this is just one of the best pieces of work full stop. I dont like the look of the current ogres, but this has such a huge amount of feeling in it. Congratulations on the gold too.

Perfect. He reminds me of old C23 Jes Goodwin ogres! I hate the current far-east-Ghenghis Khan looking ogres! I am an old ogre collector and I can appreciate this stunning work. The paintjob is brilliant. Could you please share wht colours did you use for skin? It`s perfect. Cheers!

coming from the SciFi side of the fence, the shield reminds me of The Black Templars Space Marines which is awesome somewhat, but when I look at it from the fantasy side of the fence, which is the side it should be viewed from, it is an absolute amazing piece and deserves that gold, and he probably got that skin tone from NOT eating snotlings and goblins.

To me he looks like a Ogre roman centurion, I love the way you have converted him, and the skin looks great, so me and my boy are going off to the local GW store to get some ogres and have a go. Thanks, a very inspiring piece.
