These are all my sculpted and converted minis so far *.
1. Space Wolf Scout: my first painting using acrilic colors and some blending technique.
2. Ork in terminator armour: my first conversion using green stuff.
3. Ork Warboss: I begin making ork heads with green stuff and i tried to give a body to the best one.
4. I begin to try human heads. This one is too big for 28 mm scale and too little for 54mm but has a good expression.
5. Tech Priest: A good head in scale and then i give it a body. This is my first and only complete sculpt. (finished 99%).
6. I tried a woman body
7. High gravity planet miner (a squat): a bit too high.
8. High gravity planet miner in exoskeleton.
9. Making scratchbuilt sculpts was too time consuming and so i began to make conversions. This one is based upon the mordheim necromancer.
10. This one is based upon Rackham GRIFFON MUSKETEERS
The inquisitor rule book and the minis were so great looking that i decided to convert 28mm minis inspired to them.
11. Damien 1427: based upon a GW ghoul (finished 80%)
12. Sergent Stone : based upon catachian sprue (finished 60%)
13. Slick Devlan: based upon catachian sprue (finished 80%)
14. Inquisitor Covenant: based upon catachian sprue (legs, head and forearms)(finished 80%).
15. The Space Wolf Codex cover and the forgeworld model were so amazing that i decided to make a 28 mm conversion.
The conversion is based upon catachian ( head) and Space marine plastic sprue (legs (repositioned), shoulder pads, backpak, forearms, ... etc). In this pic you can see also some paint job.
That's all folks.
*When i was younger i used to make some plastic models (aircraft tanks boats in 1/72 scale) and to paint some plastic 1/72 miniature, but only this year i began with 40K minis.

MarkusTay 11-Feb-05 #121941 | | Rating: 10 You are an inspiration, Pega. I recently started sculpting myself, small additions to existing figures. Is this how you started? I've been doing conversions for years, but I always used existing bits. Some of my sculpted add-ons have been coming out very satisfactory lately, and I've decided to take the plunge and do a model from scratch. I just bought a pack of REAPER advance dollies to help me out, have you used those? I'm gonna check out your sculpting tips page, and then I'll start tonight. I think I'll still borrow a head from another model, though, I don't think I can handle faces. Thanx for sharing your inspiring work. |
