I painted this model for a showcase on MiniRealms, where the focus was on facial hair and the embelleshment of a bladed weapon.
OK, what have I done?
On the sculpting front:
As you can see from the pics, I have sculpted a decent set of lamb-chops on his face and also a leather cap which I really think gives a different feel to this rather barbaric ogre.
To embellish his axe I have removed the runes (sculpted over them) and added a couple of metal rings.
On the painting front:
To complete his hairyness I have used layers of black and brown ink washes over his chin and upper lip to give him a freshly unshaven look.
Again, his weapon has been enhanced with a weathered checkerboard pattern and understated bloodsplat.
