This guy was fun, I tell ya. Based off heavily modified plastic legs, a modified resin torso (from the FW tank commander) and with tons of greenstuff, plasticard and pewter details added to finish him off.
This guy won a GW staff painting contest for 40k.
The paint scheme was inspired by everybody's favorite Mandalorian, and the Boba Fett color scheme will resonate throughout the entire army. However, yellow will be reserved for the more veteran soldiers. Relatively simple, but remember I need to do like 80 more guys just like him Already have about 10 done, and 95% finished a Hellhound flame tank.
Currently toying with the idea of doing weathered armor for the two Hardened Veteran squads... remember how banged up Boba's armor was in Episodes V and VI. Lots of silver chips showing through. Try to use your imagination, and please comment because I need to know if I'll just be ruining the look by trying!

Jericho 17-Nov-06 #203464 | | Rating: - Thanks for the kind words The green is similar to what they did in the Codex, it's Catachan Green hilighted by mixing in Camo Green. In the book they didn't have much (if any) intermediate shades, and so hilights were a bit harsh. Mine are a bit smoother and not quite as bright. |
dark arts 16-Nov-06 #203426 | | Rating: 10 wow nice converson i love it. i like how you did the greens, is it dark angelsgreen mixed with bad moon yellow? and the face is so smooth! |
Jericho 09-Mar-06 #170523 | | Rating: - Thanks for the replies... there's a combination of factors that kinda mess things up here regarding the conversion. The plastic crouching legs are a bit small IMO, and the resin FW torso is way longe than it should be. Not an issue if the guy is sticking out of a tank turret like he was meant to, but I put the bust on a regular body to make this guy. Not as noticable in person, or from higher angle shots I assure you |

ancient god 19-Nov-05 #156791 | | Rating: 7 great lieutenant you have there. it SEEMS his legs are a bit short, but i can't really tell from the pic. if you're going for the boba fett look, maybe paint the clothing in something more greyish, i'd say. as for the chipping: do it! but don't think of using straight metallics, that'll ruin the minis. mix BG metal or something with a bit of brown and grey as to dull it a bit. i have some BA in my profile weathered this way, take a look. good luck, and go on posting the good stuff! | |
