Dark Age Dragyri Blizzard

This is one of the latest releases which I just painted for Dark Age Games. The pieces fit together remarkably well, which is is important... due to the weight of the figure. Like the Frostbite, he had to be painted while stuck on the end of a pin vise. He was at least 75mm high, probably closer to 80mm. It was the only way that I could get at all the areas which were reflecting the OSL sources. Having two big crystal glowing axes was more of a challenge than I was expecting! I had to spend a lot of time balancing the concept of reflected/cast light vs showing the actual colors of the mini. Multiple OSL sources are a lot of fun to do, as they create extra interest no matter which way you look at the mini. No side of the figure is necessarily in 'shadow', which is great if it going to be on the tabletop :-) I am now working on terrain for this faction, which will have glowing crystals sticking out of rocks. I can't wait to shoot some images of these big boys with those terrain bits! When those are done, I will post them in the discuss submissions thread.

How do you blend so well? I have tried using water and Flowease. What is your technique?
