This is the last in a series of three I'm posting to show where I've been. About 1990 I was tossed into the arena of Warhammer 40k and pretty much froced to play for the orks. Everyone else was playing Mighty Space Marines, Elegant Eldar or Scary Chaos. I got hte Clown/Orks because someone got the box set and we could use the HeroQuest orcs as close proxies. I was determined to "super detail" paint one of them as a leader. This is it! Fierce huh? I not only washed this guy, I dry brushed him too. Gettin' fancy I was.
The other two from the series can be seen at #'s 107143 and 107144
Rating: 6 WoW I really don't think this is that bad. It's better then some of my first work. except for the eyes, all of teh paint is in the right place, and we all know how hard eyes were when we started. The base is exactly how I did my heroquest guys with the cracks over grey. I definately see some highlights on the brown and the green. The blood looks like it received a separate glass. Really to me this is at least a 4. I'd say a 5 for a mini painted for a boardgame early in someones painting carrer. +1 because Heroquest is just cool.
Rating: 2 It's nice to get such a closeup so you can really study the blending work. I notice the imitation of rock on the base.. very subtle. And the blood is.. very red. I might post my first Gretchin in the future..
Rating: 3 Tony...I'm rather sure that this is just Sukigod showing us an old mini and how laughably bad it is.
It's a funny mini, nice little anecdote with it. Of course, I can't give you more than, say...a 3.
Rating: 1 i suggest a heavy reapaint on this... the base is really bad, and u shall not drybrush the skin. u must wash the metal and repaint the green stains on this, also brown stains on the skin. the blood seems red fluo paint and the eyes are on the cheeks
