This was an attempt to work on flesh tones before going after a larger nude (54mm) model. I got the mermaid from Paizo after a long wait. I started working on thining the paints with a combination of water with a droplet of dish soap and extender from Michaels craft store. This made the paint work well, but I had problems when I used a black primer as the paint tended to act like an ink leaving some of the areas that need highlight with a lot of the primer still showing through.

Dr. Bob 19-Dec-05 #160365 | | Rating: 5 The photo is out of focus, which makes it a little bit hard to see the details - e.g. the eyes are hard to make out. Overall, i think your color choices are great. I like the metallic blue you used for her tail. The chain looks particularly good, but I think that you could have been neater in some areas. For example, the seaweed and her left areola might look better with a little bit more precision. | |
