So I've decided to paint Blood Ravens, and this fellow is the test model. I am not a big fan of water slide decals, so I'll be freehanding any icons. I painted bleached bone over the shoulder enough times to change the iconography that they ended up looking chunky. Hopefully the next ones will be smoother.
I was also appalled at how much contrast is lost in varnishing. I need you veteran Space Marine painters to give me pointers on making these guys pop. Thanks.
