Both converted and painted in 2005 for conversion/painting competitions on the Relic Painting & Army Displays Forum, this is the first figure I've ever converted outright and the second competition-quality figure I've painted in about 13 years. The base model is a Games Workshop Space Marine Chaplain in Terminator armor - using the modified arms off two old Chaos Terminators I've had packed away, and following a lot of cutting, gutting, and sculpting of details and bloated flesh, this is the end result here.
I also sculpted the stonework base and the cracked tile effect from scratch on a 40mm round slottabase, and the freehand on both the figure and base are probably the most extensive I've done to date.

Great work Tin as usuall, very unique conversion and great colour choices, my only qualm is that his face is a bit to "fake" looking but hey thats me. The base is a 11 on its own..lol |

This is a great conversion. The base is stunning I would like to see a piece on how you did that. I would run some purple or green wash over the flesh as its a bit too white the rest of the paint job is very good. |

My intention was for him to look like bloated, corrupted flesh was bursting out from his armor, and the only thing holding him reasonably together on the one side was the framework of the armor. I tried painting veins beneath the skin, and sculpted stiches into the flesh at several points. (Thanks for the comments thus far, folks!) |

what is that white stuff on his belly and left leg??? it looks kinda odd, but in a freaky chaotic way. It is not often you see dark apostles. good work overall. - frobenius |

great unique mini. i saw this guy in your tutorial and i was waiting to find him painted up. the power weapon is a 10. great stuff. good freehand base and color palate. | |
