This is a picture of some of the figures from my Tau Vior'la Sept combat patrol in a group photo shot. The two Gun Drones in the darker maroon scheme were painted in a different style due to time constraints, but essentially match the undersuit colors of the Fire Warriors.
Image 112732 shows a top view of these figures, and image 112935 shows a front view.

Tinweasel 25-Aug-06 #192061 | | Rating: - Thanks for the comments thus far. So far as the scheme and the blending from light at edges and dark in the center, I was aiming for a brighter, magma-esque scheme. There's still highlighting on raised faces and edges, but that's primarily covered by mixing in oranges, yellows, and whites in a non-consistant pattern on sharp edges (like armor plates, rifle trim, etc.) |
ManU26 05-Apr-06 #173602 | | Rating: 8 Great job !
However, I think you should highlight less. Some contrasts contradict any logic of light. For example, why is the top most section of the middle drone so dark ? But the painting remains real great !

Wren 03-Apr-06 #173502 | | Rating: 8 I love the reds, and that's a great looking squad. The bases really look like they some sort of colour or something, though. |
Grumb 03-Apr-06 #173494 | | Rating: 7 Nice looking Tau Tinweasel...the only problem with group shots like this is that it is hard to see the individual minis in any detail. You might want to add some more closeups to the picture.
Cheers,
Grumb | |
