This is my first entry for this years Chick Challenge III.
This mini is the first of the commandos for my viridian army. While painting that army I decided to use slightly different cammo patterns for the different troop types but to stay mainly with a jungle theme (with the exception of shock marines [cammo pattern more suitable for urban warfare] and a special-ops unit of assault marines [I will use Syntha prosthene marines for them]).
Keeping that in mind I used the same cammo pants for the commandos as for the normal marines. As commandos are infiltration speciallists I thought that the weapons should have cammo too and used the same pattern as on my assault marines. The last parts I needed a cammo pattern for were the armor vests and hats. I choosed a 4-color pattern here to express the speciall abilities of the commandos in infiltration and stealth. In addition some of the standard commandos will have cammo stripes on their faces and arms.
Rating: 8 the face and guns look weak. this is probably a problem with the sculpt, not the paint job. the clothing camo is perfect-- absolutely amazing. the weapon camo looks rushed to me.
