I love this sculpt I think that the sculptor realy captured the look of the actor who played Gamling in the LOTR movies and I wanted my painting to reflect the sculptors attention to detail. There is also alot of very fine detail which because of the dark earthy tones that the people of Rohan wear are realy hard to see. I do like the end result, unfortunately I tried to do freehand work on the cloak and just could not get it right so that for me was the only down point on the mini as I had to end up leaving the cloak plain.

Far exceeds the GW Gamling.. i really enjoyed watching the progress of this mini and can understand why you scrapped the freehand... but why clutter such a beautifully blended cloak anyway  I was relieved you didn't enter it in OR awards, imo it would have swept clear.
i'm going to try and get some dead or pail static grass... that is my only dislike in this excellent presentation | |
