Several years ago I did some of the 90mm Poste Militaire samurai figures for my brother but this set got left in it's box. I finally decide to get it out and having spent the last year trying NMM, going back to metalics for the helmet was really quite fun. I should probably mention it's not painted after any specific historical piece. I got the idea for the cloud/wave pattern from some L5R books.
Thanks for looking, all votes and comments are appreciated.

The Darker steel areas were basically the same but recieved some extra layers and a little bit of added black. I think the crest was based with GW burnished gold, then highlighted with an old humbrol gold which is quite light and with a tiny amount of GW Mithril Silver for some extra highlighting and GW Tin Blitz for the shading. |

As for getting this set now, I don't know anymore. Poste Militaire stopped trading some years ago, this has litterally been sitting on my desk for over 6 years. However, I came across a link on ebay when I started this, it seems their molds and stuff have been taken up by a company in Bath (UK) and they have re-started making some of these wonderful figures again.
They actually made five of six different samurai accessorie kits, but I don't know how much of a range is currently available. This is their site "http://www.bonapartes.co.uk/" |
