A recent commission and my second attempt at this figures. I was working to match the illustration in Hordes Primal. She took Silver in Wyrd Miniature's The Rotten Harvest II painting contest, Witches and Warlocks category, October, 2006.

mattrock 15-Feb-08 #250369 | | Rating: 9 given the position of the arms of the bow relative to the riser, she isn't aiming -- she's just released. Hence also the lack of an arrow on the bow. It could be strung, but shouldn't be to her draw hand. |
Bren 30-Dec-06 #208863 | | Rating: 9 I just bought Lylyth myself, and in the position the bow should be held according to the anatomy of her arm/wrist (like showed above) it is impossible to string the bow as if she is aiming. I wanted to do this myself, so I looked at it several times and it's really a problem because her head is in the way. So I guess she just fired an arrow. I think it's more of a sculpting problem, since it also looks impossible to attach a string in 'resting position', above or under her hand. |
tMmM! 17-Dec-06 #207407 | | Rating: 8 I think you've done a marvelous job of both painting and basing this miniature. I'd easily be giving her top marks of a 9.5-10 ... but for the fact an obvious archer has only the bow while in a clearly aiming/firing posture. Of such things are Golden Demon award winners made ... but again, I find the paint job itself extremely good! | |
