Nice one! I like the red jacket especially it looks very smooth. The face looks nice again but I'd like to see a close-up. @Severatus: retaliatory comments? lol oh. and that's a resin copy of a Tom Meier sculpt.. probably the most detailed mini I have in my collection. Sven

Hasslefree, means no details to paint. Nothing to difficult that you might be challenged on. Another mini by Gen that looks like it's not ready yet. As for the face who could tell how good it is you cant see it. I would bet it looks like a mess. droppy eyelids, Bug eyes, crappy 5 o clock shadow effect and all. As for choice of colors I dont see a choice here it's the same pallet combo everyone uses when they see a pirate with a British looking jacket. EEEhhhhh there my lad go n goof on more of my minis. TH

A lovely mini with a strong, historical-style paintjob. My main crit (and the thing keeping you from a 9) is that the base is non-complementary. I'd've preferred to see a wooden deck or a sandy beach or a cobbled street or anything that actually placed the model inside its natural context. As it is, you could swap him for a Space Marine and not need to change the base one bit.

There are several areas of this that are stand out spectacular, and based on that I suspect photo problems are indeed letting down some of the other areas. The face is terrific. This is no prettyboy movie pirate, he's grim and grimy and means business. The coat is superb, also. Red can be a difficult colour, but here it's vibrant and wonderfully painted. The blacks and browns look like they need a bit more highlighting in these photos, at least, and the base seems a little blah. Maybe drybrush the grass a bit?
