This pic shows a Federation "Light" Dreadnought, Fast Cruiser, and Drone Frigate from the game Star Fleet Battles. The Dreadnought and Cruiser are kitbashes, rescuplted to give them that spade-shaped forward hull.

Great - but I thought that the early Fed ships all had the round saucer section - even the dreadnaughts - The spade shape came later.
