The setting.....
Ejhin De Vanth grew in uneasiness as she moved closer to the inner sanctums of the Cathedral of Salauel. Her performance of her duties in her most recent crusade against the Light were successful in all but one respect, the loss of the Black Diamond. Failure was not something the Quaestors took lightly.
A diabolic chill encompassed her form as she made the final approach to the dark stair to The Coryphaeus’ chambers. As she reached the bottom, she could see that He was waiting. The gargoyles shook free of their rocky stillness with vibrant arcane energy, ready to pounce. The Coryphaeus drew forth a soul, energy to fuel his judgment…
I spent over a hundred hours on this project.
After hand carving the stairs, wall, floor from 3 separate solid blocks of plaster, I carved gaps and inserted the Gargoyles filling behind with Spackle.
I sealed the plaster with dullcoat then magic wash before painting. the entire process had a two week time limit and I had never tried such carving before. I will again it was great fun.

You done graet job here, i really like the whole scene. The only flaw for me is that the OSL i to soft. IMO contrast should be stronger so the scene would be more dramatic. |

I would say 8.5. It's beautiful! my only major complaint. Look at some of the areas of lighting...best example is the gargoyle at the bottom level, on the left. THe lighting on the side stops suddenly...While light can do this, most of the time I think it would be a bit more subtle, and then at the very end, trail off a bit more.
I think a bit brighter around the source spots, but then getting more subtle and less intense is only thing this really needs.

Love it! You're really getting ever better with OSL. I especially like how dark and moody this one turned out. One gets the feeling that even fully "lighted", the scene would be quite oppressing. Great job! |
