This was my winning entry in the first Privateer painting contest at GenCon 2006 (first place in Single Model and Best of Show). I resculpted her left fist into a slightly opened, more graceful hand. The base was built up with green stuff and stone flag patterned styrene. The 'glow' has been hard to photograph but this picture shows it pretty well. I don't want to think about how many hours I spent glazing with green.

I'd love this even without the lighting effects. They are just gilding the lily of a wonderful piece of painting. Shame you didn't post some more photo angles, I would like to have seen the rest of her. |

The OSL is stunning, and the whole sculpt, pose, base and painting tecnhique is marvelous. BUT the colour choice for the cape gives me a really strrraaaange feeling I can't shake off... I my opinion, it really doesn't go with the rest... Perhaps a colder colour would have been better for my eyes... Same goes for the base and the armour: the colours look too much alike. A more stony grey for the stone plates would have satisfied me...
Also, the OSL gives me an eye-effect, giving me the impression that the sword is crooked... Is it me, or is it real? | |
