Its a high elf, or was supposed to be. Yes, its a full sculpt, i tried for the same proportions as GW high elf concept art. Unfortunatly the paint didnt come out the way i would have liked. But the sculpt was a good learning experience, and its a tight little mini in the long run.
Anyways, the judges at GDLA gave it first cut but thats it. It could be because its a full sculpt and they kinda dislike that.... i dunno. Let me know what ya think.

Severatus 28-Aug-07 #233692 | | Rating: 9 This mini is without a doubt a work of art on a micro scale. If Adam were to show scale it might make you dizzy how fine it is. Very, Very impressive in hand where all the angles reveal subtle details overall balance & movement. From any point of view it's got a lot of mood and feel. Tha Dopeness!! |

I love the painting style, I feel like its off of a comic or tapestry or something. The birdies are much coolness, as is the dead solider. kewl works... u have improved since your earlier projects |
Monkkeystew 15-Aug-07 #232511 | | Rating: 9 First of all that's a great sculpt, and I'm sure that the judges at GD LA gave you points for that. Second, it's quite a good paint job, I especially love the the shadowed face. It looks like on the back, though, the scales are freehand (it might be the picture). If so I think texturing in the scales would've been better.
Also, congrats on first cut! That's quite an achievement. I think from then on what the judges base the winners on is completely abstract, maybe I'm just not seeing something in the way they judge but it looks like they just go by complete opinion for winners and HM's.
Anyway, great job! Cheers =D | |
