As she glanced up from the ditch to scan the nearby pasture with a shrewd eye, Miss Chumleigh mentally tallied at least ten people who'd have wanted to do the old man in. Of course, in her experience, detective work was rarely blessed with a paucity of suspects.
Every small English village needs a sleuth - that apparently utterly normal lady who somehow seems to find out everything that's happening, and delve to the heart of any nefarious goings-on. While not a physical threat to murderers-most-foul, her sharp mind and dogged determination will bring all to light, by the end of the second-last chapter.
A Copplestone pulp adventures miniature. The corpse is greenstuff and the water is gloss acrylic medium.

treide 05-Jan-08 #246426 | | Rating: 8 Well done. Great atmosphere, lots of cool details in a small diorama. The reeds are very nice - what are they made from? |
AinuLainour 27-Sep-07 #236792 | | Rating: 8 Love this little scene, the corpse is very well sculpted and it's simply something really cool and unique. Hope to see more stuff like this from you! |

Roger Bunting 27-Sep-07 #236684 | | Rating: 8 Excellent scene and wee painted. You have captured that genre very well. Never mind some of the more urban "murder capital of the world", there are lots of English villages that could easily vie for that title. |
Pharaun. 26-Sep-07 #236678 | | Rating: 10 I can't vote less for I just love this little diorama! The ol' sleuth likes to bare a little chest... can't imagine miss marple doing that |
hubbabubba 26-Sep-07 #236677 | | Rating: 8 That’s great, the title wasn’t necessary at all, it screamed Miss Marple at me right from the get go.
Technically, the creases on the corpse’s clothes are shaded too sharply IMO, but Miss Marple looks great, although I’d have liked her to be glancing down at the body.
Nice base too, fantastic idea.

Wren 26-Sep-07 #236670 | | Rating: 9 An excellent recreation of an iconic scene in many a classic English mystery, and a refreshingly different subject for a mini diorama. Love the phlegmatic expression on the lady's face, fits well with her practical pose. | |
