About…Motivations.
Being quite a lazy slouch when it comes to doing minis, it sometimes helps immensely
having a deadline.(my wife says so as well, but she doesn´t refer to minis
Of course, lazy guys like me tend to be quite lax even a few weeks before hitting
aforesaid deadline, consequently going into hectic overdrive doing things in a rush
which probably wouldn´t have occurred to a person with proper time-management…
The DUZI (a german painting event) loomed as the sword of Damocles over my last days as I wanted to finish quite a lot of projects at once, resulting in a creative avalanche of ideas
And as always too few time to see them through.
Don´t get me wrong, I don´t really entertain any delusions of winning a Golden DUZI,
for first of all, my painting skills really aren´t up to the competition…
but the fun to enter some pieces and get a response from (hopefully) interested viewers
is absolutely worth the hassle.
This time, I entered a painted version of my own sculpted Avatar (pic no. 145604), and so I had good reason to get the paintjob done at last. Too long it stood around my desk unpainted, I thought.
Had I known that there would be a side competition of Sculpts (but only UNPAINTED)
I probably would have let the paint off the Lady some days longer…but alas...
As always, there is nothing I appreciate more than your comments and the time you take to view the mini, so thanks beforehand and
HAPPY PAINTING!

noxious1981 25-Oct-07 #239334 | | Rating: 9 ok, you're an honest guy. i quite agree with what you wrote - so get a 10 for the sculpt and "only" an 8 for the painting. you should really join the maxpaint-forum... most DUZI-winners are there indeed.
so - very nice piece. you've got a style, which makes you stand out. i've already noticed your entries on last years DUZI... |

Tuffskull 16-Oct-07 #238545 | | Rating: 8 Beeing there atb the duzi myself...(I just say...and the second price goes to... ) I have to say your sculpts are really cool....with a little more effort in painting you would really be a stunning painting enemy! Maybe you should have tried entereing in the greens/greys category! maybe you should visit www.maxpaint.de most of the winners from the duzi are members there! Greeetz Tuffskull/Florian |
Thorn 16-Oct-07 #238518 | | Rating: 8 Outstanding! Ive been waiting for this ever since i saw your green. excellent work! I would have preferred to see a few metalics in there. maybe just a slight shade on the black metal body but that boils down to personal preference. |
IonRaptor 16-Oct-07 #238496 | | Rating: 9 Love it, looks just like I thought it would if a Howling Banshee became an Avatar |
