I played with some techniques, like zenithal lighting, and no base coat over the primer. All colors except the gold were built with many, many layers of glazes.

Rating: 9 I agree with the others: the base maybe wasn't the best idea but I think the paintjob is pretty fantastic. One of the best Dark Angels I've seen, and there have been a few lately It would be a shame if this thing sold for its current price of about $40. I guess the market's cooled down a bit since the book came out.
Rating: 10 very very nice model. wish i had the paints and skill to do that. frankly, i dunt care bout the base altho it looks ok.
but what i dunt understand is why it getting sold for so dam low currently
Rating: 9 I love the robes on this, highlights hit it in just the right spots, and really smooth. I think the base might have set off the figure better if it wasn't such a bright grey and had several more levels of shadow.
