Although I was bumped out on round 1 by the highest scoring entry in the round, I continue to follow the theme and deadlines of the Iron Painter contest on Wyrd Minis' website. This piece was actually painted twice as my sealer frosted the first time. The idea was to use blue>>purple>>burgundy>>red>>orange and somehow make it all work. ;-) No...no teal on the piece. Sorry P&T cult.
Rating: 8 I've just done some blending from orange to blue on the mini I painted today.. not the easiest thing but it gives a nice glow to the surface to use complementary colours. Overall really nice. Maybe a bit more definition to it though on some places. The face could use a little more setting it apart as it looks very much like a similar colour to the dress. It's due to the light of course but still. Maybe some more contrast to it to emphasize that skin is more reflective surface then the dress and at the same time making it more of a focal point? Well. Again Great work! Sven
