Chris FitzPatrick sculpted this for the first Visions in Putty show. The theme was gladiators, and he noted that his sculpt was supposed to be both a self-portrait and a commentary on the other sculpts.
I didn't convert this miniature, though I based it using some green stuff. I tried to amp the red up, making it as bright as possible. I felt comfortable with a slightly duller white. The flesh is a mix of tones, and the metallics are old GW colors shaded with GW Chestnut Ink.
More commentary and another picture are available in the Mini-a-Week section of my site, in week 5.

pixeleye 16-Jul-04 #93914 | | Rating: 9 Awsome job, the only negative i can say is the possition of the thumb...well it is nothing wrong realy...just a normal misconseption about this...the thumb was pointed at one of the sides pointing towards one of the gates in each end =)
I know, I know, totaly irelevant to this awsome model but I just could not resist...
But as i said, great job...I wanna make reds like that to =( |
jppatton1 31-May-03 #40023 | | Rating: - Thanks! This is one of the minis that resulted from a trip to GD and subsequent practice. Of course, then I discovered sculpting, was encouraged by a certain Danish painter, and took it up over painting. . . . |
