I was commissioned to convert and paint this fig to match the book/card art. The stock fig is famously unpopular, and it was a fun challenge to try to make it live up to the potential in the art (which is kinda rad). The unusual gold colors and the otherwise mossy palette all come from the art as well. I especially like how the scarf has both greens and purples.
I cut off the stock head and sculpted a new one along with a good portion of the upper body, as you see in the pic. I had sculpted heads before, but this was a challenge getting a feminine quality in a troll but retaining a hard edged feeling. I don't know if you can see in the pics, but she has sculpted eyelashes. Lots of sawing, posing and sculpting to get the arms right.
Rating: 10 This is absolutely wonderful. I haven't bought grissel yet (i'm thinking of modding it as well), but I have to admit that if this was the original model, I'd have gotten it in a heartbeat.
Hope to see more things from you on CMON soon =)
