I did this for the Chick Challenge competition held by Legio Pictorum. So I'd like to thank them first for re-stating that great event.
I chose this piece because I was looking paint up quite a few of the ilyad barbarian figures to go with the Minotaur I did earlier, and also it gave a good opportunity to practice skin tones. And although I think it lacks a little focus I was quite pleased with the overall contrast and colour. Though the smaller scale of the metalwork did mean that the approach used on the larger Minotaur piece did not quite translate as well as I'd hoped.

you're right the metal doesn't quite work but not far off maybe a couple of thin glazes of metal to bbring some metallic element back in???
The flesh is great but as you say nothing really catching the eye.. (apart from boobies;-)
maybe a bit of a sneaky thigh tattoo or something may help.. | |
