These Forgeworld dreads are not the easiest figs to work with.

I had to resculpt the cowlings where the 4 exhaust pipes connect to the back of the torso. In fact, I have had to do that on all the FW dreads I have painted to this point.

It was fun to paint something that was not a Grey Knights dreadnought, however! I really enjoy working with this color of deep blue.. mostly based on Reaper Amethyst.

Lovely work mate, nice paint job. I agree with the thing about the cowlings, I had massive issues with the same thing.

This was one of my favorites at GD Chicago '08. The colors, and the blending were great. I wish I could do this!

Great work, I have a FW Dread on the way. Inspiring stuff. Your comment about having to resculpt is worrying me though!

Man, when you think of the description of Thousand Sons marines as being magically driven automatons with hermetic suits filled with nothing but the essence and dust of their original bearers, the dreadnought is the ultimate form of Thousand Son. Great work.
