Took me a while to get round to this one, again for GD08
Started with the basic landraider, fitted the Reinforced armour from forgeworld then left it for quite a while to decide on the turret, just in time for them to release the Macharius with Vulcan megga bolter turret ! decision made i tried it and liked the look !!!
Then changed the sponson weapons to twin flamers with a fuel supply pipe fed from internal tanks. fitted the forgeworld comms package to the rear and mounted assorted packs around the turret. also built a fire control radar to fit in front weapon bay
Used the standard forge world commisar as the commander, after i had fitted a seat and full set of control panels in the turret copolla.
i went for a heavily weathered / wet look using a peat brown ink and vallajio paints.
base is a section from the 40k forgeworld road section on a limestone plynth.

Micha 21-Sep-08 #270481 | | Rating: 8 Very interesting idea, I agree you probably won´t take down a titan with this, but the´re is plenty of other stuff to kill out there; the conversion itself is nice, it´s a bit hardto see the side sponsons and the actual color pattern - the pic is a bit dark). Al in all a nice piece. Just a question: what will you do with a turretless macharius tank? |
bottrec 19-Sep-08 #270392 | | Rating: 8 Great looking LR , Titan Hunter might be a little optomistic with a Vulcan mega bolter, you need to be very lucky on the dice and I doubt you will get a second shot , I know I never have , Infantry killer definately, Titan killer no!
Can it still transport ?
Flamer fuel lines look great and the colour scheme is very 40k , keep up the good work. | |
