akaranseth 17-Jan-09 #281290 | | Rating: - No problem. I am confident in my ability as a painter and in my total ignorance of photoshop. If there is still some doubting mind the orc will be with me at GD Paris, GD Toronto, GD Chicago and GENCON so you'll be able to see it first hand!
Otherwise keep painting! |
Carnalizer 16-Jan-09 #281251 | | Rating: 10 I see I caused quite a stir. You'll have to forgive me. I have worked with photoshop for 10 years. I was 100% sure this was photoshoped. Now I'm only 95% sure. In my experience, a photo will have some grain regardless of techniques and lack of focus. Sorry for the 5, but the thought of retouched minis got me mad. |

LavronYor 26-Nov-08 #276532 | | Rating: 10 I saw this at the Long Island New York Military Model Show in person, and I can tell you that it looks just as you see it in real life. Mathieu deserved best in show but lost to Mike Blank with a diorama. The piece is absolutely stunning in every detail. |
Mason 25-Nov-08 #276351 | | Rating: 10 Definitely not photoshopped, it would be too difficult to have consistent results over a set of multiple images like this. We'd notice differences in each image. I hope you'll take it as the highest compliment that your handiwork was mistaken for digital illusion. |

junior elf 24-Nov-08 #276287 | | Rating: 10 @carnalizer: it doesn't look photoshoped to me... |
akaranseth 24-Nov-08 #276285 | | Rating: - LOL... Photoshop... I did not expect such a stupid comment. 75% of the skin was done with an airbrush. Everything was smooth down by brush to get rid of the airbrush grain and top shadows and lights as well as the yellow nuances were done by brush. I admit it is a little out of focus in some area. I need to buy a macro lense for my camera to avoid such things on minis with depth. But yes I must admit that I used a photo editing program... to crop and resize the original picture... Thanks for the laugh! You made my day! |
