OK - so another guy who's been waiting to be submitted
I initially started out with just the thunder hammer, as it was an experiment to make one from other bits (It is mainly constructed from old chainsword and power axe parts)
So I decided I should convert a marine into a suitable character or veteran to wield it
Random bits were assembled and I green stuffed the layered left shoulder pad, the power armour collar and his cape - which was surprisingly hard to get to look right - Although there are some folds in it and I'm REASONABLY pleased how it turned out, it was a learning point which I'll try to improve next time I sculpt cloth.
The base was made of a few layers of stiff card glued together and with a layer of plaster for the crumbling concrete. During the WIP stage of basing, some said he should be facing the other direction, but it was my decision to have him facing the other way as though he's just stepped up.
Painting was fairly standard, although I used a new Vallejo gold and I'm still making up my mind about it
