This looted wagon was done during a mek challenge between sukigod and myself. we gave ourselves a month and the only rules were to start with a rhino chassis. after a month of cut thumbs and what not here is my final piece.
inspiration: this piece was inspired by the movie Akira during the sewer chase scene and the movie howls moving castle. i made this piece VERY ramshackle and much different from sukigods more structurally sound one. i imagined my mek had been told to have his done three hours ago and he hastily constructed this one as the waaagh continued on. i was particualry happy with my blending which i feel has improved in leaps and bounds and the use of the glyphs on the piece as well. i have thought about entering this one into GD this year. so heres hoping. if i get above an 8.5 i might just have to consider that. anyhow if you want to vote go here. we are going for whatever is your own favorite build and final product. comments are always welcome and if you respond to mine i shall try to do the same. cheer

Severatus 03-Jan-10 #312156 | | Rating: 9 Been a while since I checked your work & I see you having all sorts of fun with these orks Always enjoyed the orky style. This piece hits on a lot of levels - paint - imagination - function - but the contures / eye lines the plates create as they overlap join & move make it visually very interesting. Dig all your new stuff, the battle wagons could do with some visually broken restrains, having subtle touches like loose equipment, showing a busted bracket Also maybe wheel covers/fenders. Im visualizing some WWII german type armor plates/chain suspended flappin about while these ork monsters rubble over the masses of fallen imperials. |

Ritual 09-Jan-09 #280442 | | Rating: 9 I really dig your work on this Ork force of yours. Should look really impressive when it's all done. This is the best of the lot, so far, I think. It looks really beaten up, without going overboard, and orky. The one thing that irks me, though, is the barbed wire. I assume it's the one GW sells, and I really dislike the look of it. Try to get hold of some proper, brass-etched barbed wire instead. It looks sooo much better! But, aside from that, great work on this and you should indeed enter it into GD. |
Bill 05-Jan-09 #279978 | | Rating: 9 Really cool piece The build is spot on and the colours are great. A few areas look a little flat rushed, though, especially the black plate with the lightning bolt in the last picture. |
Epidemic72 05-Jan-09 #279969 | | Rating: 9 Oh, i love this...it catches the orkish spirit so much. Totally amazing. Nice paintjob. The shape of the wagon is impressive.....and those exhaust pipes......the only thing i have in mind is: WOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! |

Sukigod 30-Dec-08 #279521 | | Rating: 10 My favorite part about this build is how it looks like it just smashed its way through a gigantic junkyard and this is everything that stuck to it on it's way through, still shedding some of the debris, caught in the works. Superb job Uberdark! I'm also reminded of a wagon version of Wazzdakka's old ride with the Battlecannon on a bike. |
