This was a fun miniature, but one that I chose not to tackle until I had painted numerous other Eldar figures.
Aside from the other special characters I have painted recently, I have done a Fire Prism (will post pics soon) and I just finished a squad of Dire Avengers a few days ago 
I wanted to have some nice color shifts on her to convey her status as a Phoenix Lord, and that her armor would have a shimmering or magical quality to it. Perhaps even a bit ethereal.
Lots of glazing over lighter colors, and then using some contrasting color for highlighting purposes.

A delightful rendition, although the colours used are dark in this photo, not that that detracts from the copious talents required to pull of such a high quality paint job. | |
