I enjoyed painting my last 'Big Boris' (ID 12776) so much that I couldnt stop myself buying a second one! This time round I went for the NMM look.
I have painted this model over my usual black undercoat, but have tried to keep the flesh tones smoother and not use such dark shading. I have also used a sky/earth Non Metalic Metal (NMM) technique on the metal plates of his belt, and a flat-steel look on his axe-head. What you can't see very well from this picture is my first attempt at sky/earth gold on the knife at his side. This NMM is in stark contrast to the first Boris I painted, where I used a very dark and worn-looking Bolt Gun metal paint with a thinned down snakebite leather/chaos black wash over it.
Rating: 7 nice but the light comes from bottom in front pic (muscles highlighted in the bottom) and from middle on the back of your figure... it just can't be
Rating: - Thats frustrating - the shaven head on this model is actually vastly superior to the other boris I painted! I think the image is a little too yellow... that could be effecting it... Cheers Jake!!
Rating: 8 The skin tone on his shaved head is not as good as on the ohter one you did (or does the picture just not show it so well???). Still, good work all together Pete.
