Hey all,
This piece was a lot of fun. I painted the 'nel up as death korps, and inside Ive resculpted the interior and added a death korps helmet to the seat. The door is open, and the whole thing hopefully has a pretty oily feel to it. I wanted the walker to come across as used but on the whole maintained. Let me know how you think I did with that The aquilla on the base implies the hanger deck is large, and the used coffee cup with the coffee rings on the surface next to the techie hopefully tell the story of this man working there habitually. Thanks to Ben (Rocketandroll) for the lovely plinth, and to Alex (Alextheartist) for the photo-stitching wonderfullness!
All the best, any and all c&c welcomed
James

as for the plating being a bit flat, I totally understand what you mean. Two things I'd say to that if I may, firstly a cop out- you can't really see the weathering on the plates, which helps break them up a bit, and secondly that if you look from above the plates are nearly white, and if you look from below, they are nearly black. I was trying to get a contrast across the entire model with the armour, rather than on each plate. That said, I totally understand what you are saying, the next vehicle I do will be contrat contrast contrast |
