This is a lovely figure - A 75mm Japanese foot soldier (Ashigaru 14thc) from Poste Militaire. Their figures are produced to a very high standard and are a joy to paint. This one was painted in a mixture of acrylics, oils and Humbrol gloss. I found blending the skin a lot easier when using oils, but I used acrylics on the uniform.
I liked the unusual shape of the wooden base (bought separately) when I saw it and think it works well with the model. The figure comes with a small cast base in the shape of a rock - I then found a real stone which fitted neatly against it and I painted the two together to represent a single rock.
