vincegamer 05-Oct-03 #56119 | | Rating: 10 He doesn't seem to be defending the standard very well since it's on the ground. (and if he's facing the enemy that means the enemy is standing on it).
I agree that it would be better if the red of his tunic matched the red of his shield, but no deductions cause it's so darn good.

AJ at the bank 27-Sep-03 #55306 | | Rating: 9 FANTASTIC paint work here!
I dont agree with the comment on your choice of red-based colours..I think this works well and breaks up the model nicely..highlighting the individual elements.
Whilst the shield and headgear are very good...its the banner that really makes this piece stand out from the rest. GREAT work here! The metal works very well (in fact if you want to see another VERY VERY good job ..look at the artist work on the mechanic chief posted on the 26th by another member) and really shows off the figure nicely.
Finally the base...often overlooked...your decision to make the figure removeable is laudable...but maybe a rock or two on the smaller base would have finished it off nicely(but you were probably ready to throw in the towel after all the hard work on the banner!).
OVERALL : GREAT...BRAVO!
Thanks for sharing it with us all!

petethemighty 26-Sep-03 #55197 | | Rating: 10 Very, very impressive NMM on the armour... I was planning on doing a NMM trying to replicate real armour lighting next, but it seems you've taken the first step already
I really like the tone of the metal, very realistic... You just keep getting better! |
FlorianKnoll 26-Sep-03 #55175 | | Rating: 9 The NMM Steel is very impressive, as well as the freehand. The gold is nice too, but the steel is superior. But I think it would have been better sticking to one major red tone, as you seem to have done with the blues, preferable that from the shield. Pink, purple and red on one miniature IMHO do not work that well together. |
