Well, this was a figure where the finished result was exactly as I had envisioned it.. even before the raw miniature came in the mail

It's not very often this happens- normally there are a lot of adjustments that need to be made on the original concept for one reason or another.

In any case, I was able to incorporate some of the lessons learned with the Golthias tree and the Gabriella warmaiden. I used the armature techniques as well as a newly developed way to get more clumping foliage to stick to my branches.

After reading a recent post about Confrontation figures being sculpted with polymer clay instead of green stuff, I thought I would test a theory. I did this bird of sculpey, and then carved out the small details. Since I am more comfortable with polymer vs green stuff, the process was much quicker.

I love this! I'm a terrain creator, but mostly with stock materials. Your tree is marvelous! The vignette is ideal to the figure, and painted well. I hope you don't mind if I borrow the concept sometime in the future.

That is truly awe-inspiring! Love the concept, and the paintjob is good. I'd be interested to know how you created the tree.
