I use Humbrol matt coat in a cheap Pashe airbrush, and as long as you remember to stir it thouroughly it comes out dead matt with no yellow. Good camo but it needs more shading. Nice leather and NMM's. |

JimBowen 03-Jul-02 #8096 | | Rating: 6 The age old problem of matt varnish. The Humbrol matt spray varnish is quite good(not the one for air brushes)Art suppliers may be able to help you with fixatives, other than that all you can do is make sure you are not to close to the figure when you spray the varnish and pray. |
Honza 13-Jun-02 #6427 | | Rating: - GW spray "matt" varnish is about the same as Vallejo, still pretty glossy to my taste. The only real matt varnish I have found is Humbrol one for use in airbrush, made for enamel paints. But this Humbrol varnish interacts with acrylics and everything gets a yellow tint (I tried it on a testing mini some time ago). Anyway recently I got an advice to do "light cover" of GW or Vallejo "matt" (still-shiny) varnish and over that go with the Humbrol one. The first layer of varnish would protect the colors, the second would make serve for real matt varnish. |
