After drooling over Arjay's gallery once again i decided to try ESNMM using his tones for polished steel. I am fairly happy with my attempt, though i know ive got a lot more practising to do before i get near Arjay's masterfull standard.

slappingpaint 03-Nov-03 #59357 | | Rating: 8 For your first attempt, you've done a super job. It shows you understand the concept and execution behind SENMM. My only distraction on this piece is the shield, I would have painted it white with the red cross, the same thats on his tunic. (and to be persnickity, couldn't you paint the reflection of the grass on his armor? just kidding) Good show! keep it up, and you'll see improvement with each piece. Cheers! |
Micha 03-Nov-03 #59355 | | Rating: 8 beautiful, the contrast of metal and red is great, I love it; |
Fuseboy 03-Nov-03 #59346 | | Rating: 8 Very ambitious, great work. You've got his colour choice down, I think the last frontier is his perfect blending. The more convincing areas are his right arm, his helmet, and that little armpit plate below his chin. The shield shows a need for smoother blending (tough surface, that!) and I think the jaguar headpiece looks a bit white - chrome might have more dark in the hollows of the cheek, etc. |
Dragonsreach 03-Nov-03 #59323 | | Rating: 8 (8++) This is a very brave attempt at chrome /polished steel armour. You are a lot braver than I am. I can't get the concept to work for me. A couple of hits & tips would be nice | |
