Changed dragon because of creative comment . I think it looks wonderfully improved. It is a hard dragon to bring to life.
The coolmini site is a great place to learn. Thankyou for your coments.!

I don't remember exactly how this guy was changed, but you brought out a lot of details in him..The splash drips on his chest and the orange on his neck is wonderful. What I really like about your work here is the amount of different various colors phasing from one into another. Really stunning work. I'd maybe brighten up his eyes and tongue a bit. Seems ignored, unless if you want the viewer to center more on his orange crown more. |
DarkStar 17-Dec-03 #65372 | | Rating: 8 Well done! Now that's a color scheme that really meshes well for a Dragon of the Sea. Also, a beautiful photo if I might add. The base is really slick, it's hard to do water right, but I think you captured the feel of this Dragon with a water environment. The kelp thingies around his face and neck look really convincing as well. What an improvement, although the original version isn't bad at all, this version is so much better. I really love the whitecaps and the water flinging from his arms. What I've found works for a quick "wet water" effect is brushing tons of high gloss varnish over the watery parts, like the dripping water on his lower torso. If you do it right, it can really add to the realism. An easy effect too. | |
