Tau Battlesuit

I've been meaning to showcase my version of the SENMM technique for some time. It was just a case of finding an appropriate model to do it on, I think the tau battlesuit fits the bill prefectly. Hopefuly you'll agree that the result is 'not too shabby'. I realy enjoyed painting it and hope that you enjoy the view. Comments welcome as always. Cheers, and Happy Noo Year.

Not to sound like a stuck record - but this IS awsome. Most SENMM seems to be exaggerated, but I love the subtle shading you achieved with this. It's just perfect. Please can you do an article re your technique - once you've milked it for all the glory you so very much deserve of course!

It is simply the best SENMM I''vw ever seen. I don't really understand those who gave a 9 saying that it is an awesome job. For what you 9ers would give a 10 then? ;-) Okay, the shield horizon could be better, I think also the horizon on the gun should not be that parallel to the gun. But regardless, it is just GREAT.

Lovely technique, but yeah, the shield's horizon should be slightly curved... The grey earth and pale sky in particular give a great winter look, or perhaps summer someplace very cold. Possibly early morning in a desert as well... Although it doesn't match the rocky/grassy base. Either way it's got a wonderfully clean classic-scifi look that works well with the comic-book look of the model.

Nice piece of work sir! The lack of different colors actually intensivies the NMM look.

Wow, the raised left leg reflects the sky, while the lowered righ leg reflects the ground. That is just too awesome for words.

You're right about this model being perfect to demonstrate the technique on. I'd personallt like to see an inset of a close-up, and he does sort of look like he's about to tip over. Brilliant work overall.
