My third mini on the site.
This has been painted for the up coming GW Grand Tournament Final on 7/8th of February 2004.
I wanted to experiment with coloured metalics on the armour, so i went with a kinda greeny silver. My army colours are basically red, green and white (see other pics posted!) so i think this ties in well. The colour is GW jade green and chainmail, highlighted up with mithril silver. The platemail is the same as my mounted commander.
I was quite pleased with the cloak as this was the most intricate pattern i've tried and i think it came out o.k. :o)
The conversion is pretty simple. It's based on the limited edition (German, i think) Phytrion model without his sword and shield. To replace them i used Korhils axe, with the bottom hand filed off and a gloved hand from the archer sprue. The only other thing is the sword hilt i put in the previously empty scabbard on his back.
In gaming terms he is the ubiquitous high elf commander with Armour of the Gods and a great weapon. I thought it would be better with the axe then just a standard greatsword.
Anyway, hope you like it
All feedback is greatly appreciated!

Mergram 19-Oct-04 #106732 | | Rating: 8 I like the conversion and the pattern on the cloak. The Green armour turned out very well. The metal on the axe looks too flat for my taste and the white part of the cloak could have been weathered a bit, and the white lacks from deeper shadows, IMHO. Hope this helps. |
