Well, I thought it was high time to try out one of these 40k figs that has been languishing on the shelf for several months.

I had never really painted one of these before, so some new techniques had to be developed! Actually, I am looking forward to doing more 40k stuff, since the wide swaths of armor make nifty surfaces for painting insignias, camoflage, etc. I took a pic of the wolf face on the shoulder pad before I stuck the jet pack on the figure.

And the base is indeed made from sculpey... not a rock! I didn't want to mess around with drilling into a real rock, so I sculpted this. I made a cast of it, though, for my trouble .

Awesome! Love the pelt/cloak and that shoulderpad is so sweet... Nifty surfaces indeed... and you obviously have the talent to make the best of them

The stance is the fault of GW - all GW miniatures of that year have a very flat two dimensional sculpt to them. I like the paintjob though. The shading on the cloak works well

First of all, excellent job. On a personal note, I don't like his stance. He looks like Richard Simmons getting ready to do jumping jacks. Sorry, but it just looks ackward.
