This is another one of the knights I'm painting for a friend. The base left unfinished for his request. The heraldry and banner are hand-painted. IMHO it's just a good tabletop mini. It's my start in painting his army...

Yes the pennant is wrong (should be more horizontal or pointing at the ground...), but that doesn't really matter much, does it? As far as the paint-job is concerned, I can't see anything wrong with it  |

Great! I love ones that look less fantasy and more medieval. The heraldry: true divorced arms with argent, chevron gules would not include the top point of the chevron, or rather it would divide at the apex, so the red bar should not hook back down before hitting the blue. Also, the shield on the crest would also be blazoned, probably in the same but different is possible. |

I like this one a lot better than the first one, crisp bright colours and the highlighting is good. I'd give a 7.5 if I could. |

Well, the pennant could also be grabbed by the wind, so it could be bent to give the appearance of fluttering. |

Certainly a more than respectable effort and there is a lot I like about this piece, the shading on the white looks very well done... and you're right the blue is a little weak, (I'm figthing with this myself right now). The heraldry - excellent. Only thing that I would change if he were mine is perhaps make the horse's neck/head barding white, it would create a nice visual flow from neck to shield to haunch. Just my pref though.  |

There is some shading on the white pats, but I find the pic a bit dark and therefore the colours are a bit deformed. I can't re-take the pic as I sent the mini to its owner. I'm not worried about the whites so much as about the blues - they came out dark and bleak. And you're da** right about the pennant! I haven't even thought about this! Big bravos for pointing this out. I'll let the owner know and let him point it downwards!

It's hard to tell from the picture, (and mine don't even come out this well) but I don't see any shading on the white parts except on the helm. Also a very nitpicky point if the horse isn't galloping the pennant will hang towards the ground when the lance is level. But all in all very good tabletop quality. | |
