this isn't for the comp but I redid Christina as I wasn't happy with the rushed first rendering

Gypsy 23-Jul-04 #94960 | | Rating: 8 The red is somehow clashing with the pink and the rider in general doesn't seem to be painted to the same standard as the horse which is really lovely and one of the nicest I've seen. |
mickc22 23-Jul-04 #94868 | | Rating: - Thanks, I'd originally done her with red armour, but wasn't happy with the result as it was a bit rushed. And the were quite a lot of red ones anyway. She is a CMON mini, I think there are still some available from the CMON shop. As for selling her, that was always the intention, although after the repaint it was a bit reluctant |
firedragonstudios 21-Jul-04 #94667 | | Rating: 9 Always nice to see an original colour scheme. I'm not particularly familiar with this figure but I can't see where you sculpted the heel on so a job well done on that too. I really like the the blue/grey colouration of the horse - I wouldn't have wanted to sell this model if I'd painted it :-D - keep up the good work! |
mickc22 18-Jul-04 #94081 | | Rating: - BTW I resculpted her boots in case nobody noticed, everyone knows you gotta have heels when you're riding |
mickc22 18-Jul-04 #94079 | | Rating: - Thanks Tammy, i wanted to do something different with her as it seemed most people were doing red. The only decent reference I had was from a 54mm mounted mini and it's done with oils (a first) so the horse was a bit of a learning curve
I now have the Ultimate Horse book which has just about every breed of horse in it so watch out for the next gee gee
cheers for the comment |
Minigrrrl 17-Jul-04 #94051 | | Rating: 9 now this is actually one of my fave versions of this mini. The horse is very nice and natural looking, and even though the warlock purple style armour is unconventional, it looks ace. One thing i would comment, next time you paint a horse, try giving it one sock of black or white...blend it into the main colour, you'd be surprised how much more character it gives it. | |
