I have another to paint for my taste and I will follow your advice and I am in hearty agreement. The black line is there but may not be strong enough or I still suck at photos.
This festive piece went at the stairway of My sisters mini oriental house so I could not base it. Now for Christmas she has hinted for a Samurai to guard the door. hohoho
Rating: 7 What a festive fellow..I think his scale pattern would stand out more with some “black lining” and shadowing in the underneath areas of the body and base. Nice colors too.
Rating: 7 TAB, I really like the colors you used on this one. I like the red/orange fades on the side scales. But, the highlights need to be stronger. This is especially noticable in the front scales. A bit of showy basework would really help this guy too.
Rating: 7 Very nicely done, I like the colour scheme you picked. normaly, I would like to see a little more in the way of shading/highligting, especialy on the green areas, jsut to create soem more depth & realisim , but that's a personal prefrence, overal lvery nice job
