This is the inquisitor and his retinue for my witchhunters army. This was my first display base for a squad, and I'm not completely satisfied with the result, but a great learning experience. Most of these minis are posted individually already, but have each been rebased to fit with the theme of the army, and photographed again.
As always comments/critisism are appreciated.

I'd give this a 9.5 .
Eric.. Beutiful work...and I personally like the base
My only complaint... the models look too neat and nice...for some reason; I don't see them as a witchhunter retinue for some reason

JakeSh 23-Jun-05 #138109 | | Rating: 10 Love the crisp, clean and cartoony style. I think this squad looks wonderful. Some parts of the display base could use some work, some of the cork looks too much like... well... painted cork. The bases of the minis look good, though. Again, awesome work, I'm blown away. |
SynapsyS 13-Jan-05 #117952 | | Rating: 9 The painting is marvelously executed, but the bases trouble me - having every model on a rock/wall section, then putting them all together makes the whole scene WAY too busy - perhaps if you built each base up towards the middle of the diarama as if they are standing on a hill - this would put the emphasis not only back on the models, but on the Witch Hunter himself. |
Nelson 30-Oct-04 #108307 | | Rating: 10 Awesome squad...great painting, little conversions, and the nmm is excellent on all of them. As for the base, I think it's just a bit too cluttered. They're all just kinda packed on there, and it looks a bit too busy. Secondly, the colour scheme need a bit more unification, or something. The reds on the WH look different from the reds, on the Crusaders, etc. Still, great squad. |
AtlachNacha 30-Oct-04 #108249 | | Rating: 10 Beautiful stuff, especially like the Crusader henchmen's armour.
Good conversion work on the main inquisitor. I don't recognise all the bitz you've used though. What components are there?
(btw to provoke_me, the miniature your asking about is the Sister Hospitaller that comes in the witchhunter retinue box set, and comes pretty much as you see it. it's one of my favourite minis, really simple and a pleasure to paint. her cloak is especially nice) |
provoke me 27-Oct-04 #107965 | | Rating: 10 wowsers! one question. what miniature did you use for in the 2nd pic from the bottom on the right side??? |
EricJ 27-Oct-04 #107890 | | Rating: - I think Mergram pointed it out, I'm dissatisfired with the bases/presentation base. They're the 3rd bases these minis have been on and they're better than the previous ones, but still not there yet. I have a strong feeling they will see at least one more base before they're done. |
Mergram 27-Oct-04 #107852 | | Rating: 10 Wow, you r not completely satisfied with the result!!! It's an amazing squad. You'r technique and painting skills are really high. The thing I like less is the base. That grey rocks don't look very realistic for me... I think they should be darker or something... I'm not sure. Just my opinion. Anyway and outstanding work... Congrats! |
jilted 26-Oct-04 #107767 | | Rating: 10 ...and you say you are not completely satisfied with the resullt!?! If you can kept this painting level for each mini if an army:You are a great man! !! Beautifull and amazing work!Chapeau bas! |
Micha 25-Oct-04 #107593 | | Rating: 10 Wow, one of the greatest inquisitor squads I´ve seen for a long time, they´re all very characterful and each has a unique set of colors the makes him stand apart. | |
