I've had this miniature lying around for a while so I finally decided it should be painted. I went for a dappled horse instead of brown, I think I'm tired of painting plain brown horses. I had to do some magic on eomer's face, the sculpt was pretty bad. His eyes ended up being painted on as they were kind of non existent. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out, I am especially happy with the horse, though. Hope you guys like him.

Very dramatic! I think you did pretty well on the face, in real life a helmet like that would pretty much hide your eyes so no bad there. Also the horse is fantastic. I have to agree with kow-lown about LOTR sculpts, they're pretty sketchy sometimes (the details that is, this is actually a pretty nice horse sculpt). So I know you were probably "fighting against the mini" a bit here  (The other thing is that unless that front hoof is attached to the base, expect the mini to "sag" over time as the back leg bends) |

I think the horse looks great and so does the base (lovely!)
I don't like his face though, it's... ah I dunno, it just don't looks right.
Everything else is good.

This one deserve at least a 8.5 but many people think LOTR minis are poorly painted, but not... they are poorly cast... Nice work really, i saw this one and i must admit you improved the face! Nice work on the horse although. - Kow |

This is easily an eight plus IMO I love the LOTR minis and have to agree that the casting on many of them is pretty poor.
The horse is fantastic and like you say makes a nice change from the brown more commonly used.
The whole piece is very well done and at the moment is also being very underrated which is a common problem with the LOTR range. | |
