Confrontation: Celtic Centaur 1

This is the first one of my celtic centaurs (I have 2 more to paint) and my first horse with more work done than just a simple basecoat. I am very pleased with the horse and the skin of the human part. I spent some extra attention to the head in his left hand - freshly chopped of from one of his enemies. I would like to have some blood on the axe and dripping from that head onto the leg and ground but have to experiment some more to paint it correctly. I painted the armor in blue to fit the main theme of my army but it doesn't look very good. I should have shaded it some more. Sven "Vulture" Wichert Comments are very much apprechiated ;)

Hiya Sven! (I'm that Centaur guy from Mini-Painters) Great job, think I'll go for the reddish-brown look myself :) Wiedersehen, Martijn

Thanks Jim! Yeah, that armor detail was a PITA to paint. The grainyness of the horse is due to resizing and sharpening the pic for CMON. You may take a look at my page for some bigger and cleaner pics (esp. the front view :D ).

right between a 7 and an 8 in my book. Nice job on the skin tones (a few creases area little ragged). Nice job on the armor detail (that keltois armor is tough to paint cleanly). Like what you did w/ the tail and around the hooves. The horse skin looks a little grainy or something ... doesn't have the sheen that horses usually have.
